PROJECT PROPOSAL

Section 1

Shinobi

My final major project will be called Shinobi. This is because the game will focus on a super soldier called Exo who is based on a futuristic type of samurai/ninja. However my FMP level will follow his partner Michael as he goes through a section of the MI7 base. Seeing as I am focusing on the artistic side of the project the base will be full to the brim with assets and pleasing aesthetics to the eye.

I am working towards creating a walk through environment that I will be able to fill with assets. This way I will be able to demonstrate my skills in creating good concept art, 3d modelling and texturing.

Section 2:

Seeing as my game is going to be a stealth based action game I will need to research my target market, Competition and existing products, While I am doing this I will also need to research existing game mechanics to make sure that I am not ripping anything off, it is also important to research the current gaming trend and where I believe that the trend will lead.

Section 3:

My game will be based on the PC platform, this is because my game is going to be an asset and graphic intensive as well as based in a 3d environment, although there is a chance that I could port it over to consoles. The type of technologies that I will be using while in this project will be mostly Photoshop, 3D max and the Cry engine as my game engine. I will use Photoshop for things such as concept art, texturing etc. 3D max will be used for 3d assets and mud box will be used for organic stage and character creation. Finally Cry engine will be my game engine where my game will be made.

Section 4:

Throughout the production my work will be open to criticism and peer assessment. As I go through there will be an Alpha and Beta test. This is where my peers will be able to critique my work. As I also go through the production I will continue to update a production log, while I’m doing that I will talk about what I have done, what was good. And what was bad about it.

I will also create a blog to show what work I have accomplished a will gain critique from the community
